Curating Change: The Art of Designing 25,000 Sustainable Welcome Kits

25,000 welcome kits, two cities, and one powerful idea — to create a meaningful gesture that would go far beyond a simple gift. When a leading American multinational financial services firm opened its new campuses in Mumbai and Bengaluru, EcoMestre Collective was entrusted with designing a welcome experience that would speak to the tenets of productivity, sustainability, wellness, and collaboration.

Every kit was thoughtfully curated, ethically sourced, and crafted to leave a lasting impression. From tech organizers woven out of recycled newspaper fabric by tribal artisans in Rajasthan, to wellness essentials sourced from home-grown brands, each piece was chosen to tell a story of care, purpose, and conscious living.

This large-scale project brought together over 15 local vendors, women-led micro-enterprises, and artisan clusters, supporting over 100 livelihoods and giving more than 500 kg of waste materials a second life. The entire process was executed without a single piece of single-use plastic, from product creation to packaging.

More than just a kit, this was a movement — a way to show employees that they were stepping into a workplace that values people, planet, and productivity in equal measure. The result was a welcome that employees could hold in their hands, and a story they could carry with pride.
